In an episode of a program that aired this Wednesday, 3rd, a former NBA player strongly criticized the Denver Nuggets star
Gilbert Arenas harshly criticized the pivot of the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokicduring the program “Nightcap”, that the former shipowner presents to Shannon Sharpe. The idol of Washington Wizards questioned the Serbian’s MVP awards.
“Jokic is probably, statistically, when we look at the game as a whole, the worst MVP winner. He is the worst MVP of the last 40 years. When we talk about MVP, his teams took first or second place,” said Arenas.

According to Gilbert, the Nuggets’ campaigns and Jokic’s performance in the two seasons in which he took home the trophy were not “extraordinary”. Despite the acidic quotes, Gil stated that Joker deserved the title of 22/23’s most valuable player instead of Joel Embiid.
“See, his first two, he probably shouldn’t have won. If we look at history, last year – this one should have been his, it shouldn’t have gone to Embiid. […] Now, Jokic is first (in the MVP race) with great statistics. Do you understand what I say? And now we’re, like, ‘C… for the last few years and now we’re going to have to give it to him this year.’ […] We’re lowering the bar, lowering the level of the game through a narrative”, added the ex-Wizards.
