Ronen Ginzburg’s team defended the title they won for the first time last year.
Prometheus beat Kalev/Cramo in the final playoff match Latvian-Estonian Basketball League — 91:83. The Ukrainian team became champion tournament.
Let us note that the match began with a minute of silence. The teams paid tribute to those killed during the Russian rocket attack on the Dnieper on April 19.
The first quarter was an even battle, with the advantage constantly changing hands. Prometheus created a slight advantage, but Kalev/Cramo made a breakthrough in the second quarter and took the lead.
The third ten-minute period became key, the Ukrainian team won it with a difference of +12 points. Kalev/Cramo, in turn, managed to equalize the score in the final quarter. However, the ending remained with Prometheus.
The best player for Prometheus was Gial Clavell, who scored 26 points and made 6 of 12 three-point shots. We also note DJ Kennedy, who has a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Prometheus became a two-time winner of LEBL. Last year, Ginzburg’s team defeated VEF from Riga in the final.
