Denver’s Serbian center Nikola Jokic won the prestigious award from the association for the third time in his career.

The National Basketball Association announced the winner of the main individual award of the season – the Most Valuable Player title for the regular season.

The league announced on its official website that Denver center Nikola Jokic won the vote, making the award his third in the past four years. He previously won MVP honors in 2021 and 2022.

Notably, the 29-year-old Serbian became the ninth player in NBA history to be named MVP three or more times.

Jokic was voted first 79 times, second 18 times and third twice. In total, he received 926 points, which was 286 points higher than second-place Oklahoma defender Shai Hilges-Alexander. Slovenian Luka Doncic from Dallas received 566 points, also making it to the top three finalists.

In the 2023-24 regular season, the Joker ranked 10th in the league in points, fourth in rebounds and third in assists per game. He became the second player in NBA history to score at least 2,000 points, 900 rebounds and 700 assists in a season, joining Oscar Robertson (1961–62).

Jokic ranks second in the NBA in both double-doubles (68) and triple-doubles (25). He shot 58.3% from the field, which was 10th in the league.

Nikola helped Denver achieve a season-high 57 wins and the best record in the Western Conference (tied with Oklahoma).

We remind you that Denver did not start well in the quarterfinals of the NBA playoffs, losing two home games to Minnesota.
