New coach of Paris Nizhni Novgorod Sergei Kozin spoke about his collaboration with former basketball club coach Zoran Lukic.
On Friday, Kozin officially replaced Lukic as coach of the Nizhny Novgorod team.
“He regularly involved me in the process, in communicating with the players, telling me how certain things were going. I was constantly present in various situations in order to understand as much as possible what the work of a head coach is, because this activity is not only related to the conduct of training and matches, it is also a lot of work in outside the field.
Yes, Zoran suggested my candidacy more than once, but I didn’t care when it happened. I just continued to help the head coach as much as possible with the team, organizing the games and preparing. And I knew: if you do your job well, the time will come when you will have a chance,” Kozin said as quoted by “Championship”.
Nizhny Novgorod finished the VTB United League season in 12th place and did not qualify for the final stage of the tournament.
