Russian-Israeli basketball player Egor Kuleshov admitted that he still wants to play for the Russian national team.
— My words about the desire to play for the Russian national team? The desire was and still is. I think it happened like that.
It took me a long time to get Russian citizenship in terms of basketball, and then I came to UNICS and didn’t play. If I had gone to a slightly smaller, mid-table team, where I could have had a chance and some playing time, then everything could have been completely different.
Everything could have turned out differently if I had made better decisions, as soon as I obtained citizenship. But in basketball, in sport, everything changes in a season, even in a few games. And it can still change for the better,” Kuleshov said at the Championship.
Kuleshov is 29 years old, he was born in Volgograd, but at the age of 6 he moved to Israel. In the 2020/21 season he played for UNICS Kazan. Kuleshov now plays for Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
