Gimnasia again fell to Regatas in the Reclassification series they faced. El Remero took the game back to Socios Fundadores and stole two chairs from Mens Sana. Now they have to travel to Corrientes where those from Calvi have the possibility of qualifying for the quarterfinals if they win, thus sweeping those from Villagrán.
The Rower rowed it and stole both as guests
The match at Comodoro Rivadavia was very difficult for both teams. They failed to outscore their rival by a double-digit margin. The maximum advantage they got was nine units in the Regatas part, however, and with a great Iván Gramajo (31 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) Mens Sana turned it around. Gimnasia managed to overcome that distance and retired a unit ahead at halftime.
In the second half, the match was no different. The battle continued until the end and Gimnasia seemed to rebound on the scoreboard, while trying to pull away from Rower. But, Regatas was more and led by Alejandro Diez (18 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist), they took the lead again. Comodoro’s team was helpless with only one player to score and at home, fell again. Those from Calvi are left with a match against Socios Fundadores by seven points today and no extension is needed, now it’s time to travel to Corrientes.
How does the series continue?
The series between Gymnastics and Regattas will continue on Friday, May 31. As it is the third time the two meet, the location has changed and now they have to travel to Corrientes for Remero to host. Fernando Calvi’s men have won two away games against Green Magic, who were very strong last season at their stadium.
