— The results of team performances are not the main task of the Lokomotiv-Kuban Academy. We are not a sports school to count occupied places. Of course, we strive to win and win medals, but the main goal is to bring players to a professional level, prepare them psychologically, functionally and develop their understanding of the game. The tasks are broader than evaluating the results of a performance. Our coaching groups, currently being rationalized and some being rebuilt, must aim to guide players towards a professional career.
— Lokomotiv-Kuban started a serious trend in terms of preparing its own reserves for the main team and the national team. Where do you see growth points?
— I see an improvement in the effectiveness of the academy, first of all in improving the qualifications of the coaches of our youth and youth teams, as well as in the overhaul of coaching. Now we examine all applicants in detail, carefully analyze their work, and also evaluate and make changes to training plans, individual training methods and competition processes. We want the academy to systematically train professional players for the club base and national teams of the country,” Vedischev told .
