Head coach of CSKA Andreas Pistiolis noted the team’s performance in the third game of the VTB United League playoff final series against UNICS.
On Friday, CSKA defeated UNICS at home (80:72) in the third match and took the lead in the best-of-four series with a score of 3-0. The fourth match will take place on June 2 in Moscow.
— As expected, the opponents started this match very hard. We understood that they would react to the previous defeat. We started the match quite impressively, choosing poor shooting opportunities.
During the match we were able to restart and our game became the kind of basketball that CSKA should show. We brought the game to the point we wanted. Now we no longer feel additional pressure on ourselves, we are in a good psychological state.
Today we attacked a lot through Nenad Dimitrievich, the leader of UNICS. We made him suffer. Almost every team does this. They try to attack through the leaders, as well as through the players who are weaker in defense,” Pistiolis was quoted as saying by the press service of the VTB United League.
