Former league champion and Basketball Hall of Fame member Alonzo Mourning has recovered from a life-threatening illness.
And another famous athlete has overcome cancer. According to ESPN, this time former basketball player Alonzo Mourning beat the deadly disease.
The point is that the 54-year-old ex-NBA player underwent surgery in which his prostate was removed.
Surgical intervention was a necessary step, as the former legendary player was diagnosed with stage three prostate cancer.
It is known that the operation took place in March of this year. However, doctors have only now confirmed Mourning’s final recovery, as no more cancer cells were found in the ex-athlete’s body, thus avoiding the spread of cancer.
Mourning is the 2006 NBA champion with Miami. Alonzo has been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame since 2014.
