French center Alex Sarr, likely number 1 in the 2024 Draft, projects a great season as an NBA rookie and inspiration at Wembanyama
The french Alex Sarr has a good chance of following in the footsteps of his compatriot Victor Wembanyama and be the first overall pick of the Draft from the NBA. However, the league’s vision for France’s two pivots is very different. The absolute holder of the San Antonio Spurs is a great recent basketball phenomenon, while the other emerges as one of the best talents in a “weak” class of players. However, this does not prevent us from taking our fellow countryman as an example.
“I want to impact the NBA in the same way as Victor this season. I think there were very high expectations surrounding him, but he managed to live up to everything. He makes me think about the France team in two or three years’ time. Imagining what we can become is certainly exciting.”said Sarr, during his participation in the podcast Paul Georgeof Los Angeles Clippers.
From one French phenom to another, Alex Sarr is ready to make his mark like Wemby
“Obviously I want to make as much impact as he did in the league… he makes me think about our national team 2-3 years from now & it’s exciting.” @ATTpic.twitter.com/goaEISmFVf

“I want to make an impact from the first day I step onto the court in the NBA. Of course, I will have learning moments and, as a result, some bad games will happen. But this is normal. I feel like I’ve been through stages like this in my career. So I know how to face it and learn from my mistakes.”, added the Frenchman, who knows that the process will not be easy. It’s not simple to be a successful rookie in the NBA, it all depends on the ability to adapt in a new competitive environment.
