The City coach sat in the front row and closely followed the first game between the Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.
The NBA finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks started this Thursday and one of those invited to the first of the seven games was Pep Guardiola.
Invited by the Celtics, The Manchester City coach sat in the front row of TD Garden like just another fanincluding a black diver from Boston.
What is the connection between Guardiola and Boston?
In February of this year, Pep welcomed Joe Mazzulla to Manchester, the young 35-year-old coach who led the Celtics to the NBA finals. The coach, who admitted that he was fed by different sports, was accepted by the Catalan and City training.
The two coaches posed for a photo where Mazzulla was seen wearing a light blue Manchester City shirt with the number 21, while Guardiola wore a green Boston Celtics shirt with the number 4.

Today, Guardiola “returned” that visit and was present at the Garden to see the first final. Also, yesterday a picture was released where the two were seen together in a practice.

In the conference before the first final, Mazzulla assessed “learning from non-basketball coaches and learning from successful people in other sports.”
“I think the things that lead to success are the same. You’re in the locker room, no matter what sport it is, or even if you’re in a company and everyone says the same thing”said the Boston coach.
“Toughness, unity, connection, the mentality that you bring. It’s the same thing. It’s a matter of just getting the right group of people in the right place and then trying to feed that mentality every day. You can learn from anything and everything . Try to be as open-minded as possible,” stand up.
