Basketball players of the French team banned from playing for clubs in Russia and Belarus

The ban is valid until the end of the war in Ukraine

French Basketball Federation banned the basketball players of their national teams from playing in the championships Russia and Belarus until the end wars in Ukraine.

All players of the French national teams must sign an undertaking that they will not cooperate with a Russian or Belarusian club during the war in Ukraine.

Players who have already signed agreements with Russian or Belarusian clubs will not be called up to the French national teams (men’s and women’s) for future tournaments, including the 2024 Olympics.

Ukrainian basketball player Toronto Raptors Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk spoke about how many NBA players spoke out against Russian aggression and were ready to help Ukraine.
