Instituto ng Regatas welcomes back La Caldera de Alta Córdoba for the second game in the quarterfinal series. It was a resounding win for Gloria, who after falling, recovered and tied the match for qualification to the semifinals 1-1. The victory of the Córdoba team breaks Remero’s unbeaten record in these playoffs and now they go to Corrientes for the third match.
Glorious force in Córdoba
The match is all local, obviously, Gloria will not allow Regatas to steal another victory in Córdoba and have the possibility of sweeping them. From the start, Lucas Victoriano’s team took advantage and dedicated themselves to extending their gap to the Corrientes team. With great effectiveness in his field goals (61%, that is, 37 shots made from 60 attempts, adding doubles and triples). Roberto ‘el Toro’ Acuña (17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) was the standout among the glorious ones and led the Instituto to win by 25 points at halftime.
In the second half, the story was the same or worse for Remero who did not enter the game. Instituto was so far away from the scoreboard, that they reached a 44 point distance throughout the fourth quarter. In addition to Acuña, they have five players with more than double digit conversions, Nathan Hoover with 17, Bryan Jefferson with 14, Leandro Vildoza with 13, Nicola Pomoli who added 12 and Cosolito 11. Those led by Lucas Victoriano won the match by 39 units. and now the series heads to Corrientes to play the third game.
How does the series continue?
The series will continue in Corrientes with a dispute over the third point of the series. The Regatas will be local and host the Institute on Friday to determine who will be on matchpoint for the semis. With this glorious victory, Remero snapped its unbeaten playoff streak, a four-game winning streak, three against Gimnasia and one against Victoriano.
