Athletistic / Basketball. President of PBC CSKA Andrei Vatutin answered a question about interaction with the Euroleague. According to him, there is now no point in discussing the progress of negotiations on the return of Russian clubs to the Euroleague.

“I leave your question without comment. There is no point in discussing something that does not exist. Of course, I followed the Euroleague last season, I try to watch every match of this tournament. Russian teams, the Euroleague have certainly not become stronger,” he quotes, according to Vatutina Metaratings.ru.

The Euroleague Executive Council of Shareholders decided in March 2022 to suspend all Russian clubs from participation in the tournament due to events in Ukraine. This suspension was recently extended for the 2024/2025 season. It should be noted that CSKA is one of the founding clubs of the tournament and is permanently registered in the tournament. Recently, the contract with the military team for participation in the tournament was extended until 2040.
