Maxim Klitschko, the son of the mayor of Kyiv and ex-world boxing champion Vitaliy Klitschko, may make his debut as part of the Ukrainian national team.
According to basket.com.ua, the young man joined the expanded squad of the Ukrainian youth basketball team to prepare for the U-20 European Championship.
Note that Maxim Klitschko is taller than his father. He is 218 cm tall and plays as a center. Last year he performed in the USA as part of the Taft School team.
At the beginning of the year, the basketball player announced that he entered the American Amherst College, and next season he will play for its team of the same name.
Klitschko Jr. has never played for Ukraine’s youth national teams.
The European Championships will take place from July 12 to 21 in Romania. Ukraine’s rivals will be Sweden, Hungary, Armenia, Kosovo and Moldova.
