Former basketball playerthe Los Angeles Lakers » Jerry West has died at the age of 87, reports ESPN.
The causes of death have not been specified.
West spent his entire career with the Lakers. He is an NBA and Olympic champion, a one-time NBA Finals MVP and a 14-time All-Star. West has been inducted into the Hall of Fame three times: as a player, a member of the Olympic team, and in recognition of West’s work as general manager of the Lakers and Memphis, and as a consultant to Golden State and the Clippers.
The media has repeatedly pointed out that West’s photo would have served as a prototype for the NBA logo.
