Ukraine will definitely leave the group at EuroBasket 2022. So say FIBA experts, who, a month before the start of the tournament, assessed the chances of national teams to win it.
The national team of Ukraine in this list took the 19th position among 24 teams.
“Ukraine will be a team that will not be taken lightly in Group C in Milan. They recently gave Spain a big scare during a World Cup qualifier and they made it to the round of 16 at the last EuroBasket in 2017 where they lost of the champions in Slovenia.
Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk was one of the team’s best players last month and this is an underrated team that could make a splash. They will probably compete with Great Britain and Estonia for a place in the playoffs,” said the authors of the ranking.
At the same time, the teams of Estonia and the UK, which will also play in the same group with the wards of Ainars Bagatskis, are lower in the rating, so for now, according to FIBA’s forecasts, the Ukrainian team should go to the playoffs.

FIBA experts consider the Slovenian team the main favorite of the tournament. The second place was given to the French team, and the third – to Greece, which will also play in the same group with the Ukrainian team.
