JJ Redick takes over as NBA head coach the Los Angeles Lakers next season, reports ESPN .
As reported, the 39-year-old specialist agreed with the club’s management to sign a four-year contract. Redick met last week with Lakers vice president and general manager Rob Pelinka and club owner Jeanie Buss.
Redick was selected 11th overall by Orlando in the 2006 NBA Draft. He also played for Milwaukee, the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia, New Orleans and Dallas, and has not worked in the NBA or as a as head coach or as an assistant.
In May, the Lakers announced the dismissal of head coach Darwin Ham after losing to Denver in the first round of the playoffs – 1-4.
