The 39-year-old specialist signed a four-year contract
Los Angeles Lakers headed JJ Redick.
The parties entered into an agreement for a period of four years. Note that for Redick this is the debut role of head coach in an NBA club.
The specialist has already started working on selecting a coaching staff. According to Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, the important traits of a new coach are his ability to communicate with players and his basketball IQ.
JJ, 39, is known for his time playing for the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks. After his career, Redick worked as a pundit and commentator, and also hosted a podcast with Lakers leader LeBron James.
The Lakers finished eighth in the Western Conference during the regular season and advanced past the play-in stage. In the playoffs, the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets in five games, after which they fired coach Darwin Ham.
