Quimsa won the first game of the series against Boca

Quimsa defeated Boca Juniors in the first game of the league semifinals and took a 1-0 lead in the series. After coming back from -11 at the Ciudad Stadium, Ramella’s team, based on a fierce defense in the second half, got the victory. They will have to face the merged court again in the second match that will be held on Monday, June 24. The scorer is Fabián Ramírez Barrios and Wayne Langston has the most offensive contributions in the visit.

The first point is combined

The match in Santiago del Estero was a battle worthy of a semifinal between two National League greats. He started with Fusion sleeping in defense, something not often seen and with Boca exploiting that weakness. Those led by Gonzalo Pérez had a dominant role on the court through Wayne Langston’s inside game (16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal), a tactic that hurt the federal team a lot.

The match in Santiago del Estero was a battle worthy of a semifinal between two National League greats. It started with the Fusion sleeping defensively and without the MVP of the regular season, Brandon Robinson, something that is not often seen and Boca took advantage of that weakness. Those led by Gonzalo Pérez had a dominant role on the court through the inside game of Wayne Langston (16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal), the tactic that hurt the federal team the most.

The match was even closer, Fusion established their edge protection and they executed it in the most daring way possible. And on offense, they increased their effectiveness to reduce Xeneize’s advantage on the scoreboard. Fabián Ramírez Barrios (24 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) led Leandro Ramella’s team and in the last quarter, Quimsa took the lead.

Boca lost Leonel Schattmann, one of its scorers, for five fouls. What further reduced the production of conversions in Xeneize and Quimsa was noticed when they distanced themselves by nine units. The closing, with joint success already assured, was dynamic and the visitors chose not to burden their players with a possible comeback. Ramella’s men won the first game of the series by eight points.

How does the series continue?

The series will continue at Ciudad Stadium in the second match, which is on Monday, June 24 at 8:05 pm. Boca will try to steal a home spot from the defending champions, while Quimsa will want to secure home games and not suffer as they did to Peñarol. There will be at least three games, but if Xeneize wins, we will have a fourth.
