SumDU basketball team players had an accident on the way from Zhitomir.
Team coach Yaroslav Kovalev told the details of the incident. Due to the accident, one of the team’s players, Igor Starodub, was seriously injured, while other basketball players received minor injuries.

“We returned from Zhytomyr, from the Ukrainian Cup 3×3 tour, and somewhere around 23.00, having already passed Kyiv, we had an accident in the Priluki district.
Igor Starodub, sitting in the front passenger seat, suffered the most – he had a broken ankle. Maxim Mikhailov, who was sitting behind the driver, had a cut on his head and needed 7 stitches; Nikita Bondarenko and Alexey Larin have blocked ribs, but thank God no fractures. Rodion Kuzmin did not suffer much, he had bruises, but everything was fine.
Fortunately, everything worked more or less. Only Igor Starodub will not be able to train, I think, for five weeks,” the coach noted.
In Zhytomyr, SumDU won the first stage of the Ukrainian 3×3 Basketball Cup.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian national team player changed his Spanish club to a Lithuanian one.
