Xeneize defeated Quimsa at Ciudad Stadium in overtime and reached their second straight final.
The first semi-final series in the highest category of Argentine basketball is over. On Tuesday night, Boca defeated Quimsa de Santiago del Estero in overtime and reached its second straight final. The Xeneizes took advantage of the defense, leaving the locals with just 69 points. With Marcos Mata’s spectacular triple and perfect hands from the free throw line, he added 74, to take the series 3 to 2 and enter new meaning.
The dawn of the match was, as expected, plagued by nerves, errors and low effectiveness. The context was clearly significant for both teams, and it was the hosts who slowly began to get into the game. With a goal in the painted area they took the lead on the scoreboard. Boca adjusted the defense, tried to complicate the leadership of Juani Brussino, and fouled the prisoners. The best of Xeneize came from the hands of José Vildoza, who led the offensive with points in hand.

A transformative and entertaining second half
Robinson’s poor performance was a respite for the visitors, who focused their defense on other scoring hands. As was the case in game four, Langston’s scoring near the rim was key, and Barver added big minutes. Fusion dominated the aerial fight, and managed to stay in the game with second chance points. With the help of Basabe and Rolfi, they were able to reverse the result, blowing up the Ciudad Stadium.
In extra time, the dynamic continued. To boot, there are many faults on both sides; in a rush to win over collective ideas. In that chaos, Boca came out the best. Some penetration, an incredible triple by Mata and Vildoza’s toughness from the free throw line gave the visitors the advantage. Euphoria was unleashed in the crowd of fans cheering on Boca in Santiago del Estero. The Xeneizes reached their second straight final, winning their fifth semi-final match as visitors.
What’s next:
Boca will have to wait for the result between Instituto and Olympic de La Banda to know their rival in this final. What is certain is that they won’t have home field advantage, as teams are two and three in the regular season. The final will begin on July 8. With this classification, Xeneizes entered the next edition of the Basketball Champions League.
