The Ukrainian does not plan to leave the United States, despite great interest from Euroleague teams
Ukrainian defender Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk close to a deal with an NBA team.
It was previously reported that Boston does not plan to extend the contract with Svyatoslav. The Ukrainian will leave the Celtics as a free agent.
Several Euroleague clubs were interested in Mykhailiuk. Real Madrid and Panathinaikos were preparing to begin negotiations, and Olympiakos also expressed great interest.
Mykhailiuk played 49 games for the Celtics this season. In the playoff series, the Ukrainian averaged 1.0 points and 0.6 rebounds per eight games. Over the course of the season, the Ukrainian averaged 4.0 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists.
Together with Boston, the Ukrainian guard became the NBA champion for the first time in his career. Mykhailiuk became the second Ukrainian after Stanislav Medvedenko with the championship title in the most prestigious basketball club tournament in the world.
