MBA basketball club general director Igor Kocharyan commenting on signing a new contract with the head coach of the MBA-MAI men’s team Vasily Karasev told that the parties completely coincide in their views on the development and composition of the team personnel.
On Wednesday, the Moscow club announced the signing of a new contract with Karasev.
— A month ago you said that an agreement had been reached with Karasev to extend the contract…
– Yes, there was an agreement. Now the relationship is simply formalized. In principle, all negotiations went quite quickly. We are very pleased that Vasily Nikolaevich is leading our team. We already have some experience of two seasons, which I hope we will translate into better work in the coming season. Our positions on the staffing of the team and our approach completely coincide. In general, we focus on development, ensuring that our young Russians have the opportunity to progress and reach the highest level.
— For what duration was the contract signed?
– For one season.
— What tasks will the team face in the new season?
— It is too early to talk about goals and objectives now. We will meet for pre-season training and see how it goes. Now we are putting the finishing touches to the schedule, when we will play with whom. We will play matches and, closer to the season, we will clearly know in what state we will be, ”Kocharyan told .
Vasily Karasev will lead the IBA in 2022. Last year, the team led by a specialist in its first season in the VTB United League reached the playoffs of the tournament and played in the play-ins last season. Since June of this year, the club’s men’s team has been called MBA-MAI.
