The National Basketball Association (NBA) has agreed to terms on a record $76 billion television rights deal, the Associated Press reports, citing its own source.
The 11-year deal will be finalized next week at the association’s meeting in Las Vegas.
The bulk of the games will continue to be broadcast by ESPN and ABC, owned by Walt Disney. TNT Sports, which has been part of the league’s broadcast family since the 1980s, could leave but has five days to finalize one of the deals. NBC and Amazon Prime will also carry some games.
The deal would allow the NBA to increase its salary cap by 10% per year and also open the door to league expansion.
The current deal, which expires next season, is also a record: nine years and nearly $24 billion.
