“While we had no hope of an acquittal against our friend, today’s verdict is the heartbreaking outcome of the 168-day nightmare that our sister Brittney endured. We remain very concerned for her, as all the world one day in the last six months. We are always very grateful and confident in the government agencies who try every day to bring her home.
We continue to believe that the government will do everything possible to free her from her unjust detention. Its strength inspires us every day and we intend to continue to bring attention to this issue until it is on its native soil. We will not let it fall into oblivion. We are Brittney Greiner,” reads the message on the club’s official Twitter account.
Recall that today the Khimki court sentenced Brittney Greiner to 9.5 years in a penal colony for drug trafficking. She was arrested in February this year at Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow.
