Athletistic / Basketball. Uralmash forward Alex-Sergei Kotov answered a question about his relationship with NBA players RJ Barrett and Andrew Nambard. Kotov played with them in the Montverde Academy school team.
“Barrett and Nambard are both Canadian, so I had great communication with them. We were a very tight-knit team, which was a direct factor in our success. We didn’t lose a single game all season and became U.S. champions.
We still sometimes communicate with the guys on social media, congratulating each other on individual achievements.
“We always have a team chat where we post memories, share videos and discuss something. Of course, it doesn’t happen as often as before, but we stay in touch,” Kotov was quoted as saying by the Championship.
RJ Barrett was selected 3rd overall by the New York Knicks in the 2019 NBA draft. He currently plays for the Toronto Raptors. Andrew Nambard, the 31st overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft, went to the Indiana Pacers. He continues to play for that team to this day.
Alex-Sergei Kotov started his career with Gloria Moscow, but he has spent the last three seasons in the major American college league, the NCAA. On July 10, Uralmash announced the signing of the Canadian-Russian basketball player to a one-year contract.
