Former NBA player New York, Cleveland, Sacramento, Houston and Brooklyn Imane Shumpert was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth airport (USA) with a “significant amount” of marijuana in a backpack, according to TMZ Sports.
According to a police report, airport officers found a bag filled with a “green leaf substance” in the basketball player’s belongings. The weight of the confiscated amounted to 173 grams, according to the result of the check, it turned out that it was marijuana.
Shumpert, 32, had to fly to Los Angeles to visit his daughter. A police officer said the player was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. The 2016 NBA champion was handcuffed and taken to jail. Charged, the basketball player risks up to two years in prison and a fine of 10,000 dollars.
Shumpert last played in the NBA for Brooklyn in the 2020/21 season.
