“There were options with clubs from Iran and Saudi Arabia.” Ponkrashov – after joining Dynamo Vladivostok

Basketball player Anton Ponkrachov reported to that the contract with Dynamo Vladivostok was signed for two years and said he had received offers from teams in Iran and Saudi Arabia.

On Saturday, the Vladivostok club announced the transfer of Ponkrashov. Last season, the 38-year-old defender played for Paris Nizhny Novgorod.

— The offer from Dynamo appeared relatively recently. There were options with teams from Iran and Saudi Arabia. But the main priority of the family was to stay in Russia. Because we have two children. So it is much easier to solve all the problems at home than to do it abroad.

In general, an option appeared with Dynamo (Vladivostok). The head coach and I quickly came to a common denominator. My contract is for two years.

— There was no offer from the United League?

– No.

— Isn’t the time zone difference between Moscow and Vladivostok frightening?

– No. I’ve been playing in China in the summer for two years now. So the time difference didn’t scare me too much, when the family is nearby it’s not a problem. The main thing is that your loved ones are always with you.

— What goals do you set for yourself at Dynamo?

— Team victories. Dynamo won the Super League that season. This year, they are staffed and want to repeat their success. It will not be easy to do, since Dynamo is a great motivation for all teams. But we will do our best to win. In addition, we are participating in the Russian Cup – this is also a task, since we have an interesting team. So we will try to please the fans. Vladivostok residents love basketball: the stands are always full. It’s cool,” Ponkrashov told .

In 2007, Ponkrashov, as a member of the national team, became the winner of the European Championship in Spain, and in 2012 – the bronze medalist at the London Games.
