Basketball player Anton Ponkrachov told me from which countries he had received offers to continue his career.
On Saturday, Dynamo Vladivostok, which plays in the Super League, announced the transfer of Ponkrashov. Last season, the 38-year-old defender played for Paris Nizhny Novgorod in the VTB United League.
“I had no doubts that I would find a club before the start of the season. I received a lot of offers, but not all of them were from Russia. I almost signed a contract with an Iranian team. There were options from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. I continue to do what I love! Basketball is always a challenge and tests your strength. It doesn’t matter where: the Super League, the national team or China,” Ponkrashov was quoted as saying by “Championship”.
In 2007, Ponkrashov, as a member of the national team, became the winner of the European Championship in Spain, and in 2012 – the bronze medalist at the London Games.
