The Lithuanian previously played under Valeriy Plekhanov in Zaporozhye
Budivelnik signed two new rookies – the American big man Harvey Jeray Grant and Lithuanian number four Aurimas Mayauskas.
Grant, 33, has played in many European championships. For the last two years, the American has performed in the Greek Promiteas. Last season, the big man averaged 10.4 points in the league and 12.8 points in the EuroCup.
Note that Harvey Jeray is the brother of bigman Portland, Olympic champion in the US team Jerami Grant and nephew of four-time NBA champion Horace Grant.
Mayauskas already has experience playing in the team of Valery Plekhanov. Under his leadership, the forward played in Zaporozhye in the 2020/21 season and reached the final of the Ukrainian championship.
Earlier, Budivelnik signed forward Pavel Krutous and extended the contract with Andriy Hrytsak. Also, the people of Kiev announced the signing of new contracts with the forward of the Ukrainian national team Bogdan Bliznyuk and the American defender Archie Goodwin.
In the new season, Budivelnik will play in the Northern European Basketball League. Polish Zielona Gora, Start Lublin, Szczecin, Trefl Sopot, Czech Brno and Estonian TalTech will play in ENBL with the Ukrainian team.
Budivelnik will also play in the Champions League qualification, according to the results of which he will either qualify for the main round of the tournament or get the opportunity to play in the main round of the FIBA Europe Cup.
