US Women’s National Basketball Team snatched victory over France in the final Olympics 2024 in Paris – 67:66.
The first half of the game was not very productive. At first the Americans took the lead, but in the second quarter France made up the gap.
The remaining time was an even battle on the court. Four seconds before the end, the Americans, thanks to two successful free throws, led by +3 points. In the last attack, the French managed to throw at the buzzer, but Gabby Williams stepped over the line when making this throw, scoring two points instead of the desired three.
The Australian team won the bronze medals. In the match for third place, the Australians beat Belgium 85:81.
The US Olympic team won the medal count at the 2024 Paris Games with this victory. The Americans won 40 gold, 44 silver and 42 bronze medals, beating China in the latter discipline (40 gold, 27 silver, 24 bronze).
The closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics will begin at 22:00 Kyiv time. The silver medalists of the Paris Games Parviz Nasibov and Lyudmila Luzan will act as Ukraine’s flag bearers.
