Basketball Prometheus no longer exists

The history of the basketball club is over Prometheus. Along with the main squad, the team’s youth academy also put its presence to shame. This was announced by the executive director Promethea Dmitry Palichuk.

The functionary published a post on Facebook in which he gave information about the closure of an ambitious sports project.

“Dear friends, fans, our loyal fans. Yes, indeed, the basketball club Prometheusacademy Prometheus ceased to exist. Due to pressure from law enforcement agencies, our team, like all other teams of the Investigative Committee Prometheushave lost the support of partners who are not willing to suffer the loss of reputation due to participation in our project.

During my five years working at the club, I spent the last three as executive director, BC Prometheus became my home, and the people we worked with became my family. We’ve been through a lot together, ups, downs, family holidays, gains and losses, but never any despair. I talked today with many of my subordinates, coaches, players, and the very despair was heard in your voices. Because there is no adequate explanation of what happened.

Yes, this spring we said goodbye to the team Prometheus Latviabecause keeping the club abroad for the third year of the war became an impossible challenge.

It is difficult to find funding for the upcoming season in Ukraine. It was a titanic work by our founder Vladimir Dubinsky, and we were delighted to hear: “Get ready, Prometheus in the game.” It’s a fragile miracle. I think everyone understands that finding money for sports is difficult in normal times, finding budgets for a country at war is a miracle. But the people always follow Vladimir Mikhailovich in sports projects, because it is confident, which is confirmed by the number of sports victories

All who cooperated Prometheusknow what coordinated structural work and financial openness are. Whoever came to us, whoever cooperated, always politely emphasized the high level and professional approach of the organization. Believe me, there are few people doing such projects in Europe, no one in Ukraine.

One day, all of us, our families, were deprived of our favorite jobs, our life’s work destroyed, because of baseless, frivolous allegations. Now we only have hope, hoping that there are people in this state who can stop this chaos,” the functionary wrote.
