In the opening match, the Colombian team lost to Parma with a score of 53:155. The Colombian Basketball Federation (FCB) then announced that it was not sending the national team to participate in the Friendship Cup. The Russian Basketball Federation (RBF) said in a statement that the match was organized “in full compliance with official documents and confirmations” and that all communications with the FCB were conducted through official channels.
“Oh, Colombia was lying… But we still don’t need such strange teams,” Guberniev wrote on the Telegram channel.
On Thursday, in the context of this news, the RFB updated the competition schedule: the Russian team will not play with the Colombians, but will play two additional matches with the Venezuelan team. The Parma youth team will face the Colombian team.
