Basketball Federations of Moscow and Udmurtia appointed Kirilenko as President of the Russian Basketball Federation

Moscow Basketball Federation and Udmurt Basketball Federation have nominated a candidate Andrei Kirilenko as the president of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF), the RFB press service reports.

The RFB’s elective conference will be held on September 20 at the Russian Olympic Committee. Kirilenko is the current head of the federation.

— Thank you very much for continuing to believe in me. A lot has been done in the last 4 years. In particular, we have laid the foundations of basketball infrastructure throughout Russia. They counted it the other day – about 60 objects, both small and large, have been built. I would like to continue my work at the RFB and see at least the opening of our flagship center for the Russian national teams.

“I say a huge thank you not only to the federations that submitted my candidacy, but also to all those who supported and supported me. We continue to communicate closely and jointly implement projects aimed at developing our basketball,” Kirilenko said.

A former basketball player, European champion and Olympic bronze medalist with the Russian national team, Kirilenko has been at the helm of the RBF since 2015.
