Euroleague champion, former captain of the Russian national team Vitaly Fridzon appointed president of the Desna basketball club (Bryansk), the press service of Zenit St. Petersburg reports.
“Desna” will make his debut in the Major League of the Russian Basketball Championship in the upcoming season. The 38-year-old basketball player will also continue his playing career.
Fridzon played for Zenit from 2020 to 2023. As part of the “blue-white-blue” the defender became the champion of the VTB United League, as well as the winner of the Kondrashin and Belov Cup and the Super Cup.
Fridzon’s previous club was Avtodor; he also played for Khimki, CSKA and Lokomotiv-Kuban. Fridzon is a bronze medalist at the 2012 Olympics and 2011 European Championships and a multiple VTB United League champion.
