Former Moscow basketball player CSKA Kyle Hines announced his retirement from his professional career.
Hines played for CSKA from 2013 to 2020 and was the team captain. The 38-year-old American also played for Italians Veroli and Milan, German Brose and Greek Olympiacos. He is a six-time VTB United League champion, four-time Euroleague winner.
— Today I officially end my professional career. When I started my career in 2008, I could not have imagined that basketball would take me this far. Coming to Europe gave me the opportunity to grow as a person and allowed me to compete at the highest level.
My journey has been nothing short of incredible. My dream was to play professional basketball, and while individual and team accomplishments matter a lot, that’s not why I played the game.
“I can’t wait to start a new adventure with you all,” Hines wrote on social media.
Hines holds the Euroleague record for games played (425).
