UNICS hopes to hold almost all home matches between October 10 and November 1 at the appropriate time in Kazan, with the exception of the game against Lokomotiv-Kuban, club president Evgeny Bogachev told .
Last week, Bogachev told that he was negotiating to move home matches that will take place during the BRICS summit in Kazan to other dates. Earlier, media reported that the Federal Organizing Committee, due to the upcoming BRICS summit, had ordered to move all sporting events scheduled for the period from October 10 to November 1 from Kazan. During this period, UNICS has five home matches scheduled in the VTB United League: with Avtodor, Astana, Lokomotiv-Kuban, MBA-MAI and Uralmash.
— The fact is that our matches do not fall on the dates of the BRICS summit itself, and thus we can organize in advance all our home matches, except one, at the time scheduled by the United League calendar. We will play them before and after the summit. It is clear that during this period everything will be a little closed, but we plan everything with the public.
“We now agree that the matches will go ahead as planned. It seems that they support us. And it is very likely that this will happen. Then we will postpone only one match with Lokomotiv, we will simply exchange circles with them and we will play the match away at the specified time. Of course, you also have to agree with your opponent. But the United League knows this, and we are not doing it of our own free will: this is how circumstances develop,” Bogachev told .
The new season of the VTB United League starts on September 21.
