Former CSKA basketball head coach Dimitris Itoudis who received an invitation to the VTB United League Super Cup, told that he was happy to return to Russia and spend time with the players of the military club.
The tournament, which will take place from September 11 to 14, will bring together CSKA, UNICS, Zenit, Lokomotiv-Kuban, Serbian Red Star and Turkish Besiktas.
– I feel good here. I have a lot of friends here, I want to thank the VTB United League, Sergei Kushchenko and Ilona Korstin for the invitation. It’s great to be able to spend time with CSKA, I have a lot of players here with whom we spent so much time working. I hope the tournament itself will be of the same level. Itoudis worked for CSKA from 2014 to 2022. He led the military team to the VTB United League title six times and to the Euroleague victory twice. The last club in Itoudis’ coaching career was Turkey’s Fenerbahce, which he left in December 2023.
