Former Prometey defender Agada moves to Russian club

The Nigerian was one of the leaders of the Ukrainian club, which played in the LEBL and Eurocup, for two seasons

Nigerian defender Caleb Agadawho devoted two years of his career to Ukrainian Prometheusdecided to continue his career in Russia and signed for the Avtodor basketball club from Saratov.

Agada is a point guard who joined Prometey in the summer of 2022. Last summer, he was extended for another season. The Nigerian national team player was one of the leaders of the team that won the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League twice in a row and participated in the EuroCup playoffs.

Let us recall that last season Prometey played in different tournaments with different teams. The club entered the Ukrainian Premier League with a reserve team (exclusively of Ukrainian players) and easily won it, achieving entry into the FAVBET Super League on a sporting basis.

At the end of the season, the club’s management decided to focus on the Ukrainian Super League. As announced, the team’s core will be made up of Ukrainian players who played in the Premier League. At the same time, Prometey will not play in European tournaments next season, and the players who were based in Riga are now open to offers from other teams.

In June, the president of SC Prometey, Vladimir Dubinsky, reported that basketball Prometey will 100% continue to exist, and volleyball Prometey will 99% continue to exist.

But already in August, Dubinsky announced that the club and its sports academy were ceasing to exist due to pressure from law enforcement agencies. Dubinsky also announced his resignation to the president of the PVLU and vice-president of the FVU. Later, the executive director of SK Prometey, Dmitry Paliychuk, confirmed that the club was ceasing to exist.
