CSKA basketball player Trimble believes Russians are kinder and more welcoming than in the United States

American leader CSKA Melo Trimble spoke about the cultural differences between Russia and the United States.

— Of course, there are cultural differences. The difference is in the people, in the way they behave – and not in a bad way. They are just different. In my experience in Russia, people here are much nicer than in Washington, Maryland, Virginia, etc.

I think they are much nicer and more welcoming. The only thing I noticed is that every person is mostly alone or sitting on their phone. Everything is always on the phone. For example, when I am driving a car and looking out the window, everyone is doing nothing but looking at their phone, texting or just using it.

As I said, in general, people are much nicer. You will understand this only if you visit Russia yourself. I say this as an American. Otherwise, everything is the same, because I don’t do much, I rarely leave the house. I just do my job, play basketball, that’s all,” Trimble told Championship.

Trimble has been playing for CSKA since the summer of 2023. Last season, he became the team’s most productive player and was also recognized as the MVP of the VTB United League playoff stage.

The new season of the VTB United League starts on September 21.
