Serbian basketball player resumes career after kidney removal due to collision at 2023 World Cup

Serbian basketball player Borisa Simanic has resumed his sports career with Bosnian club Igokea after surgery to remove a kidney, BasketNews reports.

During a World Cup match in 2023, the 26-year-old was hit in the kidney area during a clash with an opponent from the South Sudan team. After that, Simanich underwent surgery; doctors completely surgically removed the organ. The striker has already participated in a friendly match with Igokei and has signed an official contract with the club.

Simanic is a three-time Serbian champion and three-time Adriatic League champion.
