Zaporozhye hosted a Super League basketball match for the first time since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine
For the first time since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the city of Zaporozhye hosted the match FAVBET Super Leagues. BC Zaporozhye was unable to celebrate this historical event with victory, losing Cherkasy Mavpas – 80:90.
The opponents had a productive first quarter, which ended with a minimal advantage for the guests – 28:27. In the second ten minutes, the Mavpas managed to achieve a lead, going into the long break with the score 56:45.
Subsequently, Georgy Stupenchuk’s team defended the obtained handicap. In the last quarter, the guests managed to break away by 19 points, but the ending still remained with Zaporozhye. The result is a victory for Cherkasy Mavp with a score of 90:80. The MVP of the meeting was the visiting team’s point guard Lev Koshevatsky, who scored a double-double.
Tomorrow, October 6, Zaporozhye will host Krivbass, and Cherkasy Mavpy in Dnepr will confront the current champion.
