Pistiolis, CSKA coach: “I would rather lose a finger than go to the match without Kurbanov”

Head coach of CSKA Moscow Andreas Pistiolis noted the importance Nikita Kurbanov for the team and said that under no circumstances was he ready to go to the match without a player.

Sunday CSKA defeated Zenit St. Petersburg in the VTB United League regular season match (83:77). Kurbanov, 38, became the first player to play 400 matches in the tournament.

— Kurbanov is a very important player. It is a great pleasure for a coach to have such an experienced basketball player on his staff.

I say I would rather lose a finger than go to the match without Kurbanov. I said the same thing about Antonov, so now I have two fingers in a dangerous position,” Pistiolis said, according to the press service of the “red-blues”.
