This weekend started the new season of the Betting League MEDIA BASKET project, mixing sports, street culture, music and style – everything that captivates people who follow trends. All this has become an integral part of pop culture, actively developed by media sports in Russia.
Exciting confrontations between familiar teams and newcomers await you. In the fourth season, 16 teams will compete in one round, 8 will advance to the playoffs. Then come the classics: quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The final will take place on November 23. It will be a cool show!
On the eve of the season, the organizers held up to 4 Draft Combines in different cities of Russia: Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg. The tournament went beyond the limits of the capital and gave regional basketball players the opportunity to be part of a large media community.
Participants can be divided into several groups: professional athletes, basketball legends and media stars. Among the stars of the basketball world: Alexey Toporkov, Igor Zaikin, Timofey Mozgov, Alexey Kuznetsov, Mikhail Gunther, Andrey Kirilenko, Larry Williams. And of course, media stars. According to tradition, the teams T-killah – “Motherland Media” and Eldzheya – SayonaraBoys will take part in it. Additionally, musical artists NILETTO and OBLADAET with their Players Club team will appear on the track. Among the new members: ALIKSON TEAM, whose team is supported by the beautiful Anna Sedokova, the SYNDICATE team with the support of blogger Egor Ship and rapper Big Gun West, Favela Basket, composed of participants of African origin led by musician Washington Salles, as well as BK 10, a famous media team of comedians, including Azamat Musagaliev and Big Russian Boss.
October 12 was the first game day of the season. The audience witnessed 6 high-level confrontations, including an incredibly tense match between ROCKET TEAM and HOOPS, which ended in overtime, magnificent debuts from ALIKSON TEAM and AUF, as well as a great end to the day from DAWGS game.
On October 13, The Players Club stormed into the match, not only to get revenge on Sayonara Boys Club for their defeat in last season’s semi-finals, but also to be stronger than HOOPS again. Fans saw the incredibly brilliant debut of BLATOSPHERA, a victory based on the experience of AVG and the first steps of newcomers BC 10.
The MEDIA BASKET Betting League has always been distinguished by its entertainment and proximity to modern pop culture with show elements. The fourth season is no exception. Headliners will perform at each stage. Thus, the start of the first weekend was opened by L’One and Kazakh rapper MOREART.
Anna Sedokova, ALIKSON TEAM Ambassador, shared: “I really like basketball and you know that I have a lot in common with this sport: I have extensive experience as a spectator and fan, and I know the best players in the world. When Hasan, my friend and founder of ALIKSON TEAM, and I first met, I asked him an important question: “Do we want to play or win?” Hasan replied: “Win.” We approached the season with this attitude and we have no intention of straying from the course.
Co-organizer Sevak Hakobyan said: “This is already the fourth season and our team is only getting stronger. We have new teams, top headliners, everything is becoming brighter and more interesting. We are heading in the right direction. »
