The first victory of Vladimir Koval’s team in the main round of the tournament
BC Dnepr beat Sporting in the third round of the main round FIBA European Cup 2024/25 – 78:70.
Dnipro started the match successfully, taking the lead from the first minutes. Vladimir Koval’s team gradually increased their advantage, bringing the advantage to +14 in the second quarter. However, the hosts reduced the gap even before the big break, and were briefly able to take the lead in the third quarter.
The Ukrainian team regained the initiative. Koval’s team won the final quarter with a margin of +7, winning the match.
Dnepr won for the first time in the main round of the European Cup. In previous matches, Koval’s team lost to the Polish Anvil (71:114) and the same Sporting (57:68). In the next match, the Dnipro team will play against the group leader, Greek Sassari, on October 22.
At the group stage of the European Cup, teams play in 10 groups. After three rounds, the Dnipro team takes third place in Quartet D. The winners of the quartets, as well as the six best teams that took second place, will advance to the next round.
