For the next 12 years, basketball players will play in uniforms from the American manufacturer.
The NBA and sportswear and footwear manufacturer Nike have agreed to extend their cooperation.
According to The Athletic, the parties have agreed to a 12-year extension in which Nike will remain the exclusive supplier of basketball equipment.
“From our perspective, it was an easy decision to extend our partnership with Nike for an additional 12 years,” said Sal LaRocca, NBA president of global partnerships.
The agreement will apply not only to the NBA, but also to the WNBA and G-League. According to the source, an extension agreement was reached in the summer.
Nike has been the global partner of the NBA since the start of the 2017-18 season, after they struck a deal in 2015. Prior to this, the basketball uniforms for the league were made by Adidas.
