For some reason, a Slovenian judge tried to steal cologne for 221 euros.
The Euroleague has decided to suspend Slovenian referee Matej Boltauser for the entire 2024/25 season, BasketNews reports.
Bolthuser is not on the list of referees for this season. He will have the opportunity to appeal the Euroleague’s decision.
The disciplinary action comes after the Slovenian was caught stealing cologne worth €221 at Belgrade airport in December 2023.
Mr. Boltauzer to što kradete na terenu ne značni da to zhodne treba da presenete i rouseite. Čovića puts DB shots. Nek se i ostali lopovi spreme… #kkcz pic.twitter.com/xRD2WqbXwc

After his arrest, Bolthauser admitted his guilt, settled the case and paid damages, according to local court documents.
At the end of the 2022/23 season, Matej Boltauser will be in the TOP 5 Euroleague referees.
