It was one of five lots from The Ultimate Jordan Collection that brought a total of $8.5 million.

NBA legend Michael Jordan’s game jersey, which he wore during the 1996-97 season, sold at Sotheby’s for $4.68 million, ESPN reports.

The jersey was worn by the six-time NBA champion at least 17 times, including when then-rookie Allen Iverson beat Jordan with a crossover.

This is one of five lots from The Ultimate Jordan Collection offered for sale.

Also sold at auction were the game and signed jersey from the first game of the first round of the 1998 playoffs (840 thousand), a set of practice jersey and signed sneakers from the University of North Carolina (132 thousand), game jersey and shorts from 1988 -89 season, including the play-offs (1.08 million) and a signed American Dream Team flag from the 1992 Summer Olympics held by Jordan during the medal ceremony (1.8 million).

According to the source, Jordan’s jersey became the fourth most expensive of all time.

It’s second only to Jordan’s “Last Dance” jersey (10.1 million), a signed Kobe Bryant jersey from the 2007-08 season when he was the first and only regular-season MVP (5.8 million) and Wilt Chamberlain’s 1972 NBA Finals jersey , when the Lakers became champions for the first time while based in Los Angeles (4.9 million).
