Michael Jordan game memorabilia sold at auction for $8.5 million

Five things about the legendary basketball player Michael Jordan sold at auction for more than $8.5 million, according to the Sotheby’s website.

The jersey from the 1996/97 championship season became the most expensive lot, for which they paid $4.68 million. An American flag signed by basketball players at the 1992 Olympics awards ceremony has sold for $1.8 million.

The 1988/99 season jersey and the 1998 playoff jersey were valued at $1.08 million and $840,000, respectively. Additionally, more than $130,000 was paid for signed sneakers and a t-shirt from when Jordan played for the University of North Carolina in the early 1980s.

Jordan is a two-time Olympic champion and six-time NBA champion.

Jordan was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009 and the FIBA ​​​​Hall of Fame in 2015. The American retired in 2003; he is now 61 years old.
